The
Vice President of Technology
plays a pivotal role at NorthRock, leading the organization’s strategy for technology innovation and utilization. This experienced and visionary strategist will develop a short- and long-term plan that positions NorthRock as a leader in the deployment of technology to enhance the client experience, the employee experience and streamline processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology development, implementation, and support, with a particular focus on process and system creation, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced software applications, reporting capabilities, and customer relationship management (CRM). This newly created role is critical in ensuring that our firm remains at the forefront of technological advancements in the financial industry.
Essential Functions
Technology Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the firm’s business objectives and growth plans.
Leadership:
Mentor leaders across the firm in technology adaptation, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
AI Implementation:
Identify opportunities for AI to enhance our service offerings, improve operational efficiency, and provide a world class client experience. Oversee the development and integration of AI solutions.
Employee Development:
In partnership with the People Team, create a long-term technology plan to advance employee development and training.
Software Development:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust software applications tailored to the firm's needs, ensuring high performance, security, and user satisfaction.
CRM Expertise:
Oversee the implementation, development, and optimization of CRM systems to enhance client relationships, streamline operations, and improve data management.
Reporting and Analytics:
Develop advanced reporting capabilities to measure all firm KPIs.
Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the firm’s IT infrastructure, ensuring robust security, reliability, and scalability.
Innovation:
Identify and leverage emerging technologies to enhance the firm’s service offerings, improve operational efficiency, and provide a competitive edge.
Project Management:
Manage technology projects from conception through completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.
Vendor Management:
Establish and maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring the best value for the firm.
Risk Management:
Develop and enforce policies and procedures to mitigate technology risks, including cybersecurity threats and data breaches.
Compliance:
Ensure all technology practices comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, including investment, compliance, and operations, to support their technology needs and drive strategic initiatives.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data & Analytics or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, preferably within the financial services industry.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful technology strategies.
Strong understanding of financial services, investment advisory, and wealth management technology needs.
Expertise in IT infrastructure, software development, cybersecurity, and data management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
Strong project management skills with a focus on delivering results
