ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer & Analyst to join our team, combining data analysis expertise with foundational experience in data engineering. In this role, you will work closely with both data and software engineers to maintain, optimize, and build scalable data systems that drive key business insights and manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for designing data pipelines, managing large datasets, and ensuring data accuracy and accessibility across the company. You'll analyze data, develop visual representations for stakeholders, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data collection systems are optimized for performance and scalability. This is a unique opportunity to take on both analytical and engineering responsibilities, shaping the future of Software-Defined Manufacturing. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and data architectures that support our business needs. Create and maintain data models, schemas, and metadata to support accurate reporting and advanced analytics across departments. Develop and maintain data collection systems that enable real-time data processing, analytics, and machine learning models. Oversee the performance, accuracy, and accessibility of data, translating insights into visual dashboards for business users and technical teams. Collaborate with product managers, automation engineers, and other stakeholders to define KPIs and ensure data solutions meet business and technical requirements. Automate data workflows using scripting and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) to ensure efficient data processing at scale. Research and resolve issues related to data quality and performance, implementing best practices for data optimization and documentation. Lead the implementation of BI and Big Data tools, continuously innovating and enhancing the data infrastructure. Help define dataset standards and optimize data collection applications for speed and scale. WHAT WE WANT TO SEE 3+ years of experience in data analysis and/or data engineering. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Strong knowledge of data architecture, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing solutions. Proficiency in Python, including experience with pandas, NumPy, and SQLAlchemy for data analysis and data pipeline development. Strong experience with SQL for data querying, including performance optimization techniques (e.g., partitioning, indexing). Demonstrated ability to transform data into actionable insights, using visual tools to present findings to non-technical audiences. Ability to manage data systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support decision-making. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD Experience in manufacturing environments or working with hardware systems. Master's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Knowledge of data governance, including data quality frameworks and master data management (MDM). Knowledge of real-time data processing systems and large-scale data applications. Experience leading teams or mentoring junior engineers and analysts. Experience with BI tools and Big Data technologies, including orchestration and workflow management tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Superset). Experience with cloud environments like AWS or Azure and familiarity with data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks. WHO YOU ARE You are customer obsessed.
