Job DescriptionThe New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Information Security Officer to lead our cybersecurity efforts. This role involves protecting vital information and systems that impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers. As CISO, you will lead a diverse team, drive innovation in cybersecurity practices, and safeguard the largest public housing system in North America.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction for NYCHA's cybersecurity program.
Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments and oversee risk mitigation strategies.
Develop and refine the security program with innovative strategies and tactical plans.
Direct the planning, design, and implementation of security technologies.
Oversee continuous monitoring, detection, and response to cyber threats.
Develop and manage the information security budget.
Oversee the security aspects of vendor relationships and contracts.
Drive innovation in security practices across NYCHA.
Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in computer science and three years of relevant experience, including eighteen months in a managerial capacity; or
A baccalaureate degree and four years of relevant experience; or
A four-year high school diploma and six years of relevant experience; or
A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.
Preferred Skills
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Understanding of how security aligns with business objectives.
In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of information security principles and technologies.
Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC.
