Our Enterprise Data team, a group of close to thirty technology professionals, is at the heart of our data-driven decision-making. To enhance our impact and better enable data-driven decisions, we are seeking a Director of Enterprise Data and Analytics with experience in financial services, particularly in retail and commercial banking, to lead and elevate our data initiatives. The ideal candidate is a leader who understands the importance of fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Data and Analytics team.
The Director of Enterprise Data and Analytics will lead the strategic direction and execution of data initiatives to drive business insights and decision-making. This role involves overseeing data management, analytics, and reporting functions, ensuring data integrity, and leveraging advanced analytics to support strategic initiatives.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Intelligence and Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
15+ years of experience in data analytics, with a proven history of leading data initiatives in a financial services environment.
Experience in the banking industry, with a deep understanding of banking data and regulatory and compliance requirements.
Expertise in data management, data warehousing, and data governance.
Proficient in analytics tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, and Power BI.
Proven experience with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure’s data and analytics technologies, as well as big data solutions.
Ability to provide direction and leadership in key interactions with business customers to define, analyze, and deliver customer requirements.
Strong critical thinking skills and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations.
Develop and implement a comprehensive data and analytics strategy aligned with the organization’s goals. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, to ensure alignment of data initiatives with business objectives.
Oversee the collection, storage, management, and protection of data. Ensure data quality and integrity across the organization.
Utilize advanced analytics techniques to uncover insights and drive business performance.
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Enable selected business users with the tools and training to engage in self-service reporting and analytics.
Work closely with business units to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytics solutions. Foster a data-driven culture within the organization.
Implement policies, standards, procedures and best practices for data security and privacy, as necessary. Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulations.
Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of data professionals. Promote continuous learning and development within the team.
Develop and track performance metrics to measure the success of data initiatives and their impact to the organization.
Manage changes resulting from implementing new data systems or processes, including training, and supporting staff through transitions.
Oversee the budget for the Data and Analytics team, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
