The Activities Supervisor plans and implements engaging recreational programs, special events and daily activities for residents in an assisted living facility. This role focuses on enhancing the residents’ quality of life through social, physical, and cognitive activities, fostering a vibrant and supportive community atmosphere. The Activities Supervisor embodies empathy and warmth, fostering a supportive, family-like atmosphere for all residents while upholding the values of Jewish Family and Children’s Services and Jewish traditions.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range: $26-$28/hr (depending on experience)Employment Type: full-time, non-exempt position with benefitsEmployer 403(b) retirement match plus additional employer contribution (subject to eligibility)Cafeteria plan with medical, dental, vision, FSA, Employer-paid life, and disability insurance16 holidays (10 federal and up to 6 Jewish holidays), annually3 weeks of vacation and 2 weeks of sick leave, annuallyESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Activities department in planning, organizing, and facilitating daily activities, special events and outings for residents, taking the lead in some projectsEngage residents in a variety of activities, including games, arts and crafts, exercise programs, and outings. Encourage participation and support residents in their engagement with activities, adapting as needed to meet individual preferences and abilities. Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor, fostering a welcoming environment for all residentsPromote the safety and well-being of residents during all activitiesParticipate and lead social events, outings, and other destinations according to a scheduled itinerary. Assist with transportation and mobility needs for residents during activitiesAssist residents with entering and exiting vehicles safely and respectfully. Provide exceptional hospitality and professionalism in all interactionsTraining and mentoring new employees on company processes and practicesIn charge of the resident TV calendar and creating flyers, memos and pamphletsJOB QUALIFICATIONS:
AA degree or Bachelor’s preferred; or one (1) to three (3) months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 2 years of experience leading an Activities or Recreational program. Experience in senior facilities desiredEmpathetic and warmth approach with seniors. Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations with residents, respond promptly to their needs, solicit feedback, and meet commitmentsMust undergo a Physical exam, Tuberculosis Screening, resulting in a negative TB diagnosis prior to employment, and Influenza Vaccination (required during flu season: September to March)To be considered for this position, you must meet the requirements and competencies listed above.
