Requisition #: A-158151-11Status: Full TimeType: FacultySchool: School of MedicineDepartment/Program: Department of Emergency MedicineThe Johns Hopkins Emergency Medicine Residency Program is seeking an innovative educator to join the residency leadership team as an Assistant or Associate Program Director beginning July 1, 2025.The Johns Hopkins Department of Emergency Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland sponsors an ACGME-accredited four-year training program with 12 residents per year. Since its founding in 1974, the Johns Hopkins Emergency Medicine Residency has an established history of training leaders in the field.The Department of Emergency Medicine faculty consists of over 50 board-certified emergency physicians. Residents and faculty have clinical responsibilities across three Baltimore-area Emergency Departments at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center.The Assistant or Associate Program Director will be involved in the development of novel curricula, residency recruitment, and administration of our innovative four-year program which culminates in Focused Advanced Specialty Training (FAST) during the final year of residency. The successful candidate will join a dynamic residency leadership team composed of the Program Director, two other APDs, a program manager, and a program coordinator. The Assistant or Associate Program Director will have protected time for administration of their residency responsibilities and participation as a member of the department's Teaching College - a dedicated group of faculty who pursue educational endeavors and coordinate our department's multi-faceted teaching programs.Candidates for the Assistant or Associate Program Director role must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. They should have a demonstrated commitment to teaching, educational scholarship, and prior educational administrative experience. The ideal candidate will have completed a fellowship in medical education. New fellowship graduates are encouraged to apply. Applicants for the Associate Program Director position must have a minimum of three years' experience within residency administration.The position offers opportunities for academic and professional development and comprehensive benefits including annual vacation. The candidate will be considered for an academic rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, commensurate with experience. The base salary range is $196,000-230,000 per year. The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Emergency Medicine's faculty compensation program or pay from participation in the Department of Emergency Medicine's incentive compensation programs.
