Position Summary

The Colorado Rapids Academy Head of School (HOS) is responsible for defining, building and achieving the school’s vision and mission by providing strategic leadership and daily management of all aspects of the school’s people, programs, and systems.

The HOS will work in close connection with the Academy leaders and staff as he/she supports Academy players and their families in developing their soccer, character, and academic profiles. The HOS will work to build strategic and collective solutions for all Academy players and coaches.

Examples of work performed

Academic Leadership

Develop, manage and lead academic functions of Audi Online School Program.

Provide support for Academy player life oversight on a day-to-day basis.

Manage and collaborate with Academy staff to support player journeys as it relates to soccer, academic pathway and life as an Academy player.

Develop and implement a comprehensive academic program that aligns with Colorado accreditation standards.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes character development and athletic achievement.

Collaborate with Academy staff to create a curriculum that integrates soccer training with academic coursework.

Financial Management

Co-develop and manage the school's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible resource allocation.

Work closely with the Academy Director to secure funding and partnerships to support the Academy's mission and programs.

Community Engagement

Design, build and maintain relationships with the community relations department to develop strategic initiatives and community engagement between the Academy school and Denver community.

Build strong relationships with students and parents.

Organize and participate in community events to promote the Academy and its values.

Compliance and Accreditation

Oversee the accreditation process, including the preparation of documentation and coordination of site visits.

Keep abreast of educational trends, safety and security, and best practices to enhance the Academy's academic standing.

Culture Build

Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Management

Direct Supervisor to Academic Intern.

Future recruitment of additional educational support in later phases of Academy school growth.

Performance Requirements/Skills

Demonstrated ability to advise and inspire students in classroom and remote settings.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Organizational and personnel management.

Knowledge regarding academic curriculums and academic advisement.

Ability to create spreadsheets and routine business correspondence using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.

Ability to maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner.

Ability to work independently and in a group setting and demonstrate good judgment skills.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing environments.

Candidate with entrepreneurial, proactive spirit preferred.

Education/Experience

Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or related field.

4 years leadership-level experience in an accredited middle/high school education system.

Ability to meet requirements of valid Colorado teaching and administrative credentials.

International teaching experience preferred.

Strong understanding of curriculum development, pedagogy, and child psychology.

Ability to balance academic growth and sporting excellence with healthy social and emotional growth.

Experience working with athletes or in a sports environment.

Experience with alternative learning styles and managing IEPs.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities.

During school session must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Spanish language proficiency preferred.

An understanding and appreciation for the role of soccer/sport in the holistic development of students.

Compensation

Base salary $85,000.00 per annum
