Description:Under the supervision of the President & CEO, the General Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the Reno/Sparks Store, including employee relations, yard operations, sales, budgets, vendor relations and the organization, cleanliness and professional appearance of the facility. All employees are expected to be consistent in following company policies and procedures and safety guidelines; timeliness, quality, accuracy and thoroughness of work performed; attendance, dress, leadership, teamwork, honesty, integrity and respect for others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Determines staffing needs and creates schedules accordingly

2. Conducts regular sales meetings and scheduled safety meetings

3. Establishes and maintains vendor relations

4. Coordinates staff on estimates/big call backs, special orders and researches requested products

5. Responsible for special order processing received and tracking (margins, duplicates, invoices, accuracy, timing)

6. Coordinates transfer for materials, service and equipment with all locations

7. Coordinates set-up for dispatch delivery

8. Contacts customers to verify accuracy, timeliness and quality of delivery

9. Responsible for staff properly invoicing by store and location

10. Anticipates, owns and exceeds customer expectation

11. Works with the President and CFO on gross margin improvement

12. Provides sales and performance goals input for the department in budget process

13. Regularly identifies and communicates ways to improve GP%

14. Responsible for all aspects of inventory; control of physical counts, negative quantities, dunnage and cuts

15. Coordinates inventory and cycle counts

16. Responsible for negative quantities on hand

17. Provides leads and information to Account Managers on upcoming jobs and opportunities

18. Oversees all aspects of inventory; ordering, receiving, control

19. Understands/updates BisTrack system for accepted/bid filing system

20. Oversees facility management (landscaping, safety and cleanliness)

21. Advises Account Manager on quality and accuracy of products or services using Product-Service-Discrepancy

22. Researches and resolves product and service discrepancies as necessary.

23. Maintains the product and performance requirements of all areas to be able to support other positions when employees are away, or as necessary.

24. Conducts quality performance evaluations in a timely manner.

25. Identifies and proposes expansion of facilities and equipment.

26. Assists with and performs special projects and duties that require research and analysis.

27. Consistently upholds a high standard of professionalism while representing Truckee Tahoe Lumber at company-related events and on both onsite and offsite company properties.

28. Communicates and demonstrates company vision and goals with employees.

29. Has strong community presence and involvement.

30. Participates in budgeting and monitoring expenses/sales.

31. Consistently finds ways to improve employee morale and reduce employee turnover.

32. Must abide by company culture, rules of engagement and values.Requirements:

Education

A high school education or equivalent is required. Must be able to read, write and speak English and have the ability to work with and understand printed forms and documents.

Experience

Prior experience in the building industry or customer service is desirable, but not required.
