Store Manager

for our

Rockville, MD

location. The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring that their assigned store, and all store employees, are running at optimum effectiveness. This includes taking the lead on promoting an environment focused on customer service, sales growth, and adherence to policies & procedures.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSTake the lead on establishing a customer service-oriented, sales-focused, positive & productive store cultureManage store employees, including training, policy & procedure adherence, addressing performance issues, initiating employee recognition, and weekly schedulingWork in-store to assist with customers, sell merchandise and obtain merchandise for customer ordersAnswer customer questions concerning location, price, and use of materialsAssist in determining customer needs with regard to their specific projectProcess sales and paymentsMix & match paint for customer orders, checking for accuracyApprove color matches & tinted colors when produced by store employees & ensures customer approval prior to their exit from the storeAchieve operational excellence by utilizing financial reportsMonitor & takes responsibility for all inventory and inventory variancesManage price overrides, no charges, and any other expense control issuesProcess & submit accurate and timely administrative paperworkCoordinate with Purchasing manager for special ordersUpdate price books and customer account card changesAssist with stocking and cleaning of store shelves, counter areas, and floorsAssist with unloading and stocking of trailer deliveriesAssist with scheduled store cleaning and maintenance dutiesPerform delivery duties, as neededOther duties as assignedSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma, or GEDMinimum 3 years of retail experience1+ years of Management experienceBilingual – Spanish, preferredMust have previous paint industry experienceAbility to work effectively in a customer-centered environmentStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to motivate a diverse group of peopleDependability, flexibility, and professional demeanorPrevious experience in the paint industry preferredA self-motivated, engaged, team player with a positive attitudeMust have a clean driving recordMust be able to pass a background checkMust be able to lift 65 lbs. 5 feet from the floor; balance and load 260 lb. paint drums with drum cartUpon delivery, must be able to unload the vehicle and carry paint and other products to the required siteMay be able to stand for several hours at a timePERKSMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance PackageDisability & Life Insurance Package401(k) with employer matchPaid Vacation & HolidaysPaid Sick LeavePaid Parental LeaveTHE COMPANYFounded in 1960, McCormick Paints is the largest and oldest family-owned independent paint manufacturer on the East Coast.
