Qorvo is looking for a Director of Manufacturing to lead our Hillsboro Operations team. The Director provides leadership across a 24x7 manufacturing team responsible for the movement of production, engineering, and development GaAs wafer lots through Fab, Finish, Sort and DTR to meet schedule, customer and financial commitments. Reporting to the GM of Hillsboro Operations, this position is responsible for partnering with peer directors in driving strategic objectives for the Hillsboro Factory. In addition to delivering to tactical requirements, this role is responsible for the long-term strategic development of the manufacturing management team and to drive continuous improvements in Safety, Quality, Speed, Cost, and People/Learning priorities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, manage and lead a highly effective and collaborative team, ensuring adequate staffing levels. Motivate and coach the team to operational success. Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member understands the standards. Provide technical expertise to the team. Demonstrate leadership promoting lean practices and continual improvement. Deliver operational moves, cycle time, and outs to meet commitments. Assume organization-wide ownership for one or more strategic objective(s). Prevent and reduce wafer scrap. Reduce cost of ownership. Support process and equipment development activities. Provide oversight to installation and maintenance of capital equipment. Participate and lead cross-functional and Lean activity teams. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Bachelor’s degree; Graduate degree is a plus. A minimum of 15 years relevant work experience and a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Manufacturing Manager in semiconductor wafer processing required. Previous engineering manager experience in addition to manufacturing manager experience a plus. Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable. Ability to troubleshoot to an advanced level, often dealing with new complex issues. Ability to deal with multiple issues and shifting priorities. Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to excel in a dynamic collaborative team environment is imperative to the success of this position. Good foundational problem-solving skills with creative solutions and out-of-the-box thinking. Self-motivated; able to take initiative and effectively prioritize work for self. A strong desire to help create a positive, winning, world-class working environment.
