Engineering Manager , you’ll lead a talented team responsible for developing and scaling a powerful rules engine that manages millions of rules, enabling real-time decision-making for diverse business applications.

In this role, you’ll oversee the design and implementation of scalable backend systems using

Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and SQL/NoSQL databases . You will ensure that our systems run at scale, delivering single-digit millisecond response times for site-facing traffic, while maintaining stability and optimizing performance. Your leadership will guide the team in deploying on cloud platforms like

Azure and GCP , improving code quality through testing, automation, and adopting

DevOps practices

to enhance operational efficiency.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a configurable "rules engine as a service" that supports critical business functions, provides actionable insights, and maintains low-latency, real-time decision-making. Your ability to balance technical execution with team mentorship will be key to driving innovation and ensuring that we continue to deliver industry-leading solutions.

What you'll do:

Lead and Manage High-Performing Teams : Oversee a team of 10-12 engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to ensure the successful delivery of complex projects.

End-to-End Project Ownership : Take full accountability for the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-native applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.

Drive Engineering Excellence : Implement and enforce best practices around code quality, performance optimization, and operational efficiency, while managing non-functional requirements (NFRs) such as scalability, security, and reliability.

Architect and Scale Cloud Solutions : Design and build high-performing, distributed, event-driven systems using cloud platforms like Azure or GCP, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable architectures.

Stakeholder and Program Management : Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define project goals, manage expectations, and ensure timely, on-budget delivery of solutions that meet business needs.

What you'll bring:

Leadership and Team Management : Proven ability to lead teams of 10-12 people, fostering a high-performance culture while taking ownership of end-to-end project delivery.

Technical Mastery in Cloud and Modern Frameworks : Extensive hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, React/Angular, and cloud platforms like Azure or GCP, ensuring the ability to architect and deliver scalable, high-performing solutions.

Engineering and Operational Excellence : Deep focus on code quality, performance tuning, and operational best practices, with the ability to handle non-functional requirements (NFRs) in complex distributed systems.

Cloud-Native Systems Experience : Strong background in building and running cloud-based distributed systems in production, with a solid understanding of event-driven architectures.

Stakeholder Management and Communication : Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to align stakeholders, manage expectations, and drive consensus on project objectives and outcomes.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.2 years’ supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications...Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
