Through our work we improve the health plans and programs Aetna offers. We look for ways to tailor services to members’ clinical needs and deliver higher quality care for a better price.As the Principal Data Scientist – Product Innovation – you will work with cross functional experts across the company to design, build, and scale health plan recommendation systems. Your work will answer strategically important questions like what plans are most interesting to our customers? Or, how do we build, monitor, and improve new health plan benefits?Think things like building data science models for production-grade pricing systems, running online A/B tests, and using experimentation to improve health plan offerings. As the Principal Data Scientist you will serve as a builder, mentor, and guide technical strategy.What you will doBuild and deliver machine learning models into production that deliver insights to internal and external usersDevelop a data science roadmap that allows us to deliver on near term needs while advancing our data science capabilitiesSet the bar for operational rigor across the data science and engineering teamsWork with a multi-disciplinary team of product managers, sales people, actuaries, user experience designers, data scientists, and data engineersCreate, enhance, and maintain technical documentation for our platformBecome an expert in health plan pricing and plan designThe ideal candidateHas experience building and productionizing ML models within highly used products and services preferably in the context of Personalization/Recommendation enginesWants to do something that is innovative from a data science perspective and has a tangible operational impactLoves innovating and working on small teams that get stuff done and have a lot of autonomyRequired Qualifications6+ years of work experience developing impactful ML/AI solutions and managing the product into production6+ years of programming experience in Python and SQL6+ years of experience in version control (i.e. git, CI/CD)3+ years of experience with recommendation systems (content filtering, collaborative filtering, etc.)Preferred Qualifications8+ years of work experience building sophisticated and scalable Personalization/Recommendation EnginesExperience in Insurance, Healthcare, Retail, Tech or similar, creating products with track record of success in lifting acquisition, retention, upsell and cross sellExperience with Agile environmentsExperience with cloud computing (GCP, AWS or Microsoft Azure)Experience with experiment design (AB testing, randomized-controlled trials, factorial design, etc.)EducationBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline. Master's degree preferred.Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is: $144,200.00 - $288,400.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
