Head of Enterprise Architecture at Teradyne
Overview
As the Head of Enterprise Architecture at Teradyne, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the enterprise through transformation and optimization initiatives. Your efforts will support the formulation and realization of digital and technology strategies while driving innovation opportunities. The role involves enabling the organization to achieve targeted business outcomes that align with enterprise priorities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and risk mitigation. You will build relationships with business and IT stakeholders, communicate the value of enterprise architecture (EA), ensure satisfaction with EA services, and guide the delivery of these services.
Reporting Structure
Reporting directly to the global CIO and serving as a key member of the IT Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing the enterprise-wide technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
Develop and communicate the mission, vision, and strategy for the Enterprise Architecture organization.
Position the EA practice at the intersection of business and IT, enabling the formulation, translation, and execution of business strategy.
Collaborate with other IT team members to drive innovation and technological advancements.
2. Architecture Design and Governance
Lead a collaborative, cross-functional approach to map the current and future state of business capabilities, value streams, and IT environment.
Identify performance improvement opportunities and capability needs across processes and business units.
Analyze the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
Establish architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices across the organization.
Oversee the development of custom and generic software architectures and solutions.
3. Data Analytics
Establish and evolve the data and analytics strategy and roadmap to fulfill business needs.
Participate in solution ideation, high-level planning and solution architecture design reviews.
4. Technology Innovation
Evaluate emerging technologies and their potential impact on Teradyne's business.
Enable artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities into enterprise systems.
Drive the adoption of cloud technologies and the modernization of legacy systems.
5. Team Leadership
Build and mentor a high-performing team of architects.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Develop talent and provide career growth opportunities within the Enterprise Architecture function.
6. Stakeholder Management
Partner with business units and IT Business Relationship Managers to understand their needs and translate them into architectural solutions.
Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with vendors and partners to leverage external expertise and solutions.
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
3+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with at least 2 years in a management role.
Ten or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution, or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management, or operations in a multitier environment.
Recognized as a strategic thinker who can influence and persuade business and IT specialists.
Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit and trade-off analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
Deep understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and software development methodologies.
Strong knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in enterprise environments.
Familiarity with EA tools, graphical modeling approaches, and repository management.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of successful large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
Experience in the semiconductor or robotics industry is a plus.
