WRI US is dedicated to developing evidence-based research, analysis, and practices that guide decision-making and potential pathways for the complex and contentious challenges facing US government, business and community leaders. We are seeking a dynamic leader as our next US Director to oversee the delivery of WRI's US country transition strategy that aims to fundamentally shift the development and growth pathway of the world’s largest economy.
You will have a combination of strategic vision; robust connections to government, business, civil society and peer organizations; people management; fundraising; media relations; and a firm commitment to the organization’s values of respect, integrity, innovation, research independence, and urgency to act for impact.
The ideal candidate will be a leader in the US climate and energy fields with strong political connections and donor networks. You will be a forward thinker, able to look ahead and understand the political economy trends in the US, taking advantage of key moments and opportunities to deliver impact.

This is a hybrid position which requires 8 days per month in the office. You will be based in our office in Washington DC. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position. To be eligible for this position, you must be a resident of DC, Maryland or Virginia at the start of employment. Anticipated salary range is $192,000 - $230,400 USD.
