to join us in delivering the next wave of holographic experiences in an exciting new project. Our team is responsible for ego motion tracking, localization, mapping, and navigation across a wide range of mixed reality devices. These devices operate in various challenging environments and operating conditions. Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, Python

OR equivalent experience.

4+ years industry experience in 3D Computer Vision/State Estimation fields like SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), Visual-Inertial Odometry, Localization.4+ years industry experience working on embedded/real-time systems.Other RequirementsCandidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Citizenship & Citizenship Verification : This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or other protected status for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, Python

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, PythonOR equivalent experience.

Master's degree or Ph.D. in related fields of computer vision/machine learning.Experience writing performance-critical code in C/C++, debugging skills.Industry experience working with sensors like cameras, inertial sensors, GPS, magnetometer, etc.Industry experience working on GPS-Inertial Sensor Fusion for global navigation.Industry experience working camera processing pipelines or image quality fundamentals.Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.Microsoft will accept applications for the role until November 2, 2024.Responsibilities
