Data DrivenElder Research Inc. is a Data Science consulting firm specialized in providing analytic solutions to clients in Commercial and Government industries.Join our team and find great opportunities to hone your analytic skills, work on complex problems with amazing teammates, and gain valuable analytics consulting experience.Summary of Position:Supporting DoD's biosurveillance program and national efforts against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats as a Data Engineer, you will be part of a team that focuses on gathering, interpreting, automating, standardizing, communicating, documenting, and integrating data into a command data model/data mesh network, surveillance architectures, and test detection systems.This position will be part of our Defense and Intelligence Team serving the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security as well as the IC as our primary customers.Essential Functions:Code and add procurement data sourcesWork with data scientists and functional resourcesSupport the configuration and ingestion of designated structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data repositories into capabilities that satisfy mission partner requirements and support a data analytics and DevOps pipeline to drive rapid delivery of functionality to the clientMaintain all operational aspects of data transfers while accounting for the security posture of the underlying infrastructure and the systems and applications that are supportedAutomate configuration management, leverage tools, and stay current on data extract, transfer, and load (ETL) technologies and servicesWork under general guidance, demonstrate an initiative to develop approaches to solutions independently, review architecture, and identify areas for automation, optimization, right-sizing, and cost reductionApply comprehension of data engineering-specific technologies and services, leverage expertise in databases and a variety of approaches to structuring and retrieving of dataEngage with multiple functional groups to comprehend client challenges, prototype new ideas and new technologies, help to create solutions to drive the next wave of innovation, and design, implement, schedule, test, and deploy full features and components of solutionsIdentify and implement scalable and efficient coding solutionsJob Specifications/Requirements:Experience with Big Data systems, ETL processesExperience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)Applying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and automating that process5+ years development experience; expertise in Python, Spark, and SQLExperience with Databricks and Delta LakeDemonstrated ability to stand up and independently manage a portfolio of data pipelinesDesired Skills:Bachelor’s degree plus 7-10 years experience, or a Master’s Degree plus 5 years of experienceAbout Elder Research, IncElder Research is a fast-growing consulting firm specializing in predictive analytics.
