Lead Software Engineer
to join our team in
Huntsville, AL (Hybrid).
The candidate will primarily be responsible for leading a team and developing applications to support Integrated Mission Planning and Airspace Control Tools (IMPACT).
The applicant should be able to demonstrate the ability to lead application design, development, testing, and documentation efforts.
The selected candidate will be a member of a team providing software development and support to the AvMC Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration (S3I) Directorate.
Required SkillsQualifications
Required Experience:
Must possess a bachelor's degree and nine (9) years of experience; additional six (6) years' experience may be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).
Clearance Requirement:
Secret Security Clearance - US Citizenship required.
An Interim Secret Security Clearance must be obtained prior to employment; a Secret Security Clearance must be obtained to maintain employment.
Required Experience/Skills:
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, responsible team player, stays well-informed of industry trends and sharpening skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Lead agile software development using methodologies like Scrum
Proficient using tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, or GitLab
C#/.NET development using Visual Studio or VS Code
HTML, JavaScript, CSS
CI/CD pipelines, artifacts, and package feed
Desired Experience:
Cross-platform development
Microsoft Multi-platform App UI (MAUI) and/or Blazor
Android app development using Java or Kotlin in Android Studio
Developed Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) plugins
Knowledge of software development process, technical data package documentation
Experience with aviation
Familiarity with the Army’s Airworthiness process [i.e. Airworthiness Qualification Plans/Specifications (AQPs/AQSs), Functional Hazard Assessments (FHAs), DO-178C/DO-278A]
Worked with Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD) and Platform Managers (PMs) to achieve Airworthiness approval
