CSEA, INC is looking to fill a Senior Data Analyst position in their Information Technology Department.
Starting Salary is $89,331 annually (Pursuant to the rules of the collective bargaining agreement)
JOB SUMMARY:Under the general direction of the Manager – Data & Program Analytics, the Senior Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. Your expertise in data analysis and visualization will be critical in identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities that will drive business growth and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for activities and the results of those activities specifically assigned and agreed upon. Works efficiently in a team environment.
Completes assigned projects in a timely manner, within project resources.
Meets project objectives, providing systems that operate in a cost-effective manner.
Collect, clean, and transform large data sets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations.
Develop and implement data models, algorithms, and statistical techniques to extract valuable insights from structured and unstructured data.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and define data requirements.
Design and execute experiments and A/B tests to evaluate the impact of different strategies and initiatives.
Build and maintain data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
Conduct advanced statistical analysis, including regression analysis, clustering, and predictive modeling, to support decision-making processes.
Monitor and evaluate data quality and identify data gaps or inconsistencies, taking necessary steps for data cleansing and enrichment.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and apply them to enhance data-driven capabilities within the organization.
Collaborate with data engineers and other technical teams to optimize data storage, integration, and retrieval processes.
Provide support and guidance to junior analysts, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develops detailed system design specifications to serve as a guide for system/program development using at least two Business Intelligence and Analytics tools.
Prepares project plans and schedules, including requirements, tasks, work assignments, resources, costs, and the inclusion of project milestones, review points, and reporting thereof.
Works collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, simultaneously managing multiple projects and priorities.
Interfaces with user management to promote an environment of user cooperation and satisfaction.
Provides guidance and training to less experienced Analysts in order to improve productivity.
Reviews all work prior to its incorporation into production environment.
Fulfills administrative project reporting requirements.
Reviews and evaluates performance and training needs of individuals on project teams and makes recommendations to Information Technology management of same.
Participates in feasibility studies and evaluation of vendor's proposals and makes recommendations.
May be assigned other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(a) An Associate’s degree from a recognized institution with specialization in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Information Management or a related discipline
(b) Six years of satisfactory, progressive experience in data analytics in a business environment incorporating data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R or other similar programming languages acceptable to the management of the Information Technology Department. Knowledge of Rational databases and data warehouse, data lakes, graph and NoSQL technology, data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Splash BI are required. Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server as well as a solid understanding of statistical concepts and experience are required.
OR
(a) Eight years of satisfactory, progressive experience in data analytics in a business environment incorporating data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R or other similar programming languages acceptable to the management of the Information Technology Department. Knowledge of Rational databases and data warehouse, data lakes, graph and NoSQL technology, data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Splash BI are required. Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server as well as a solid understanding of statistical concepts and experience are required.

(a) A satisfactory combination of the foregoing education and experience.
