Description
CME Associates is a leading engineering firm specializing in transportation and infrastructure projects. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traffic Engineer to join our team in Howell, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, along with a P.E. (Professional Engineer) and P.T.O.E. (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer) license. As a Traffic Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing traffic engineering solutions to enhance safety, efficiency, and mobility within our communities.
Visa sponsorship NOT available for this position.ResponsibilitiesTraffic Planning and Analysis:Conduct thorough traffic impact studies, traffic flow analysis, and capacity analysis to evaluate existing and proposed transportation systems.
Utilize industry-standard software and tools to model traffic patterns and simulate traffic scenarios.
Develop comprehensive traffic management plans for both temporary and permanent situations.
Roadway Design and Optimization:Design and optimize roadway geometrics, including intersections, signals, signage, and pavement markings.
Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal standards and guidelines.
Incorporate innovative and sustainable transportation solutions into the design process.
Traffic Signal Systems:Design, evaluate, and optimize traffic signal systems to improve intersection efficiency and reduce congestion.
Conduct signal timing studies and implement signal coordination plans.
Stay updated with the latest advances in traffic signal technology and apply them effectively.
Traffic Safety:Identify potential traffic safety issues and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Analyze crash data and develop effective countermeasures to improve safety.
Conduct road safety audits and recommend improvements based on findings.
Project Management:Manage multiple traffic engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to define project objectives and scope.
Prepare detailed reports, technical drawings, and specifications to communicate project requirements.
QualificationsMinimum 10 years of experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, or related field.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (P.T.O.E.) license.
Extensive knowledge of traffic engineering principles, practices, and standards.
Proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as VISSIM, Synchro, HCS, or similar.
