Our client is seeking a Sr. Linux Administrator with an active Secret clearance to keep their systems, technology, and employees safe. As a System Administrator for classified systems, you will focus on providing technical support for our client’s Corporate Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
What you’ll do:
Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems; be responsible for IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
Provide technical and user support for several stand-alone, LAN, and WAN systems.
Maintain records of HW/SW revisions, perform various configuration management activities, virus updates, perform account management, etc., ensuring all actions are documented as required.
Participate in contamination network cleanup activities related to possible computer security violations/incidents.
Respond to queries and requests for computer security information and reports.
Support various levels of activities for our client’s remote cleared facilities.
The day-to-day
Work with engineers to identify solutions by providing troubleshooting and recommendations for configuration changes or the use of new technologies approved by the ISSM.
Perform various configuration management and system maintenance activities, account management, etc.
Maintain records of HW/SW revisions and ensure all actions are documented as required.
Participate in continuous monitoring, analysis, and response activities related to information system security and incident events.
Conduct site self-assessments for all systems of record within the organization.
Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with the governing authority guidance and customer directives.
Provide input to our DevOps team to enhance operational efficiencies, consistent implementation, and minimize security risks.
Work in areas of proficiency to guide or mentor team members to support team development and continuity of operations.
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of additional experience.
6+ years of experience administering and securing Linux (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu); Active Directory/IdAM; logging and monitoring, file systems, group policy, backup management, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
4+ years in a DoD, or other industrial security program and solid understanding of DoD Risk Manage Framework (RMF) process.
2+ years of experience with the design, implementation, and administration of virtualized infrastructure solutions (VMWare, Hyper-V, etc.).
Experience managing NetApp or other centralized storage solutions.
Strong skill in research, critical thinking, and analytical reasoning to address troubleshooting and develop recommendations for continual improvement.
Excellent written and interpersonal skills to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
DoD 8140.01 Certification (CISSP, Security+, etc.).
Active Secret Security Clearance.

Experience with creation and deployment of containers (i.e. Docker).
Experience using automation and orchestration tools to manage configurations, push updates, and deploy resources.
Experience in a classified cloud environment.
Experience administering SIPRNet.
Salary range$110,400.00 – $191,900.00 / annually
