Senior Ops Network Engineer

What success looks like in this role:
Develop network infrastructure based on well-architected framework concepts
Collaborate with enterprise architects, other technical subject matter experts, program/project managers, and client stakeholders to manage and maintain network environments as per client’s requirements
Implement network solutions that are highly secure, resilient, fault-tolerant, and compliant
Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues in network environments and provide solutions, root cause analysis and standard operating procedures
Develop repeatable solutions to drive operational efficiencies
Gather requirements from the clients and dissect them into user stories and tasks
Provide technical guidance and assistance to other team members
Participate in code reviews and technical design sessions
Create architecture, security, user guide documentation
Identify and implement optimization strategies to reduce costs for the customer workloads
Work closely with architects in creating architecture diagrams and maintaining relevancy of the artifacts
Proficiency in the following Network Devices with a deep understanding of designing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining: Aruba and Cisco Switches, Aruba Wireless, Multi-Vendor Firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Firepower), Forcepoint Proxies, Trend Micro IPS/IDS, F5 load balancers, and critical physical network infrastructure cabling in a Data Center and Campus environment
Works independently on specific projects or may act as lead or a technical consultant where experience and knowledge span multiple projects
Evaluates a system’s performance and identifies user needs based management tools to include Netbrain and Nagios
Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development to a final product or solution
Maintains on-call availability to respond to network issues and up-time; must be flexible and available with the scheduling
Manages the performance of internal and external service providers in order to ensure the implementation of deliverables and resulting client satisfaction. Interfaces with sub-contractors
You will be successful in this role if you have:
CCNP
or equivalent industry certification
Minimum of 15 years network infrastructure experience (manufacturing site experience is a plus)
Expert knowledge in evaluating vendor products and making recommendations to purchase hardware and software
Preferred experience in programming and scripting technologies like Python
Experience working with agile tools preferably Jira or Confluence
Must be located within New England states, preferably within commuting distance to client sites
Must be eligible for government security clearance
Must have one of the following: Cisco Certified Network Professional (Enterprise, Service Provider, Data Center, or Security) certification with verifiable CSCO ID that can be checked at https://cp.certmetrics.com/cisco/en/public/verify/credential
