Overview

Responsible for leading solar energy storage design.Location: This is a remote position, which can be based anywhere in the U.S. This position has limited travel, less than 20% of the time.Company OverviewMasTec Renewables group is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure business segment. Responsibilities

Review utility scale Battery Energy storage design, optimization of facilities, and use case analysisProduce designs, layouts, Single Line Diagrams, and Material Take-Off’s for estimating purposesClosely interface with Estimating to support development of competitive BESS solutionsPerform calculations for losses, conductor sizing, equipment rating, fusing and protection consistent with NEC, ANSI, IEC and ULWork closely with Execution team as SME for technical requestsDevelop processes to improve ongoing efforts and repeated tasks to produce accurate repeatable results and support rapid growth and scaling of businessSupport Engineering managers as SME for projects in Engineering phaseResearch and shortlist new energy storage technologies that will increase value to our clientsCreate pricing and modeling tools to support estimating teamUse modeling software to create highly accurate production estimatesDraw upon technical and industry experience to characterize losses due to equipment behavior and environmental effectsUse or create software tools to optimize solar/wind and storage designs for energy yield and project value across multiple technology solutionsCreate site-specific building blocks and layouts for proposals and to drive detailed engineering activitiesUse internal tools and industry standards to optimize project designs for constraints such as scope, schedule, budget and geographySupport troubleshooting and resolution of project engineering, construction, and performance issues as applicableDevelop processes to streamline technical inputs to bid operationsImplement industry best practices into design and executionDemonstrated understanding in Code and StandardsProposal supportSupport project turnover and performance testing of new facilitiesPerformance guarantee validation

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of

energy storage/renewables and 5-7 years of engineering work

experience.Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
