About the Role: Senior Project Architect
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Architect (SPA) to lead architectural projects from inception to completion, collaborating closely with clients, engineers, and contractors to bring visionary designs to life. Our studio is a close-knit, collaborative environment, ideal for a leader who thrives in both project and people management.
As a Senior Project Architect, you’ll lead a range of multi-family projects, from boutique historic adaptive re-use to large podium-style developments. Overseeing multiple designers and support staff, you’ll guide the team’s production, manage project timelines and budgets, and ensure technical excellence throughout each project. Our ideal candidate is an exceptional multi-tasker, excited to build systems and procedures for a rapidly growing firm, dedicated to going the extra mile, and skilled in mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership : Lead design and development to align projects with timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
Technical Proficiency : Prepare detailed architectural drawings and specifications using Revit and other software.
Site Assessments : Conduct assessments and feasibility studies to inform design decisions.
Project Execution : Oversee construction management, resolving issues and ensuring smooth transitions from design to build.
Client & Business Development : Engage in business development to secure new projects and build client relationships.
Project Coordination : Manage scheduling, coordinating with teams to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
Documentation & Collaboration : Utilize tools like Bluebeam and NavisWorks for documentation and efficient collaboration.
Budgeting Guidance : Support accurate budgeting with expertise in construction estimating.
Design Integration : Integrate interior design elements as needed for a cohesive architectural vision.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
12+ years as a licensed architect leading projects and teams -
Multifamily projects experience is required.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and architectural software; strong knowledge of construction management principles, especially in construction administration.
Client Management : Skilled at managing evolving client expectations and maintaining client relationships.
Project Scheduling : Excellent scheduling abilities with keen attention to detail.
Construction Estimating : Familiarity with construction estimating tools and Revit plugins is a plus.
Interdisciplinary Design : Ability to seamlessly incorporate interior design concepts into architectural projects.
Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly present ideas to clients and stakeholders.
Team Collaboration : A collaborative mindset, dedicated to working effectively within a team environment.
