The Cyber Security Analyst will assess, plan, and implement proactive security measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company's networks, applications, and computer systems.

Essential Functions:

Develop plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.

Monitor current reports of computer viruses to determine when to update virus protection systems.

Evaluates detection, firewall, and traffic log data to identify patterns and trends.

Designs and utilizes security applications to understand and mitigate risk.

Utilize computer network defense (CND) tools to enhance an optimal level of security.

Collaborate with contracted security vendors to enhance environment monitoring, investigation, and response methods and help set and maintain security standards on a national and global basis.

Document all information about any discovered incidents, assess any possible damage, and work with internal and/or external teams (if necessary) to remediate.

Perform penetration tests to uncover any security issues that may be missed by implemented controls.

Modify computer security configurations to incorporate new software, correct errors, change individual access status, or improve threat detection/prevention

Document and update computer security and emergency measures policies, procedures, and tests.

Confer with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and procedure/policy changes

Coordinate implementation of computer systems and plan with establishment personnel and outside vendors.

Train users and promote security awareness to ensure users are kept up to date on how they can prevent and/or report security incidents.

Assist with performing internal phishing attacks to verify users ability to spot potential attacks and verify compliance with policies

Stay up to date on IT security trends, news, and standards

Qualifications:

1 to 3 years of experience as a security analyst from a security operations background

Experience with threat detection and response, incident response, cyber defense, threat intelligence, etc.

Must have very strong communication skills. Both written and oral comprehension are important, as well as the application of inductive and deductive reasoning to daily communication.

Well-versed across SOC functions such as incident response, threat detection and response, cyber breach mitigation, cyber defense, threat engineering, etc.

Comprehension of firewalls, proxies, SEIM, antivirus, and IPDS (Intrusion Prevention Detection Systems) concepts.

Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.

Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact.

Knowledge in operating the following software:

Windows Server and Worktation OS, IBMi Operating system, HCL Domino and Notes, Rapid 7 Insight platform, Sentinel One AV, Cisco Umbrella, Proofpoint email filter, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Azure and Entra ID, Microsoft Powershell is a plus, SSL & PKI infrastructure

Basic Knowledge in of networking protocols such as IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, as well as Microsoft AD and Kerberos

Work Environment:

General Office Setting, This position report on-site and is
