Job Title: Senior EngineerWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer with a strong background in environmental consulting. This role requires a licensed engineer with at least 8 years of experience, capable of performing engineering tasks independently. The Senior Engineer will lead teams to develop and implement remediation strategies, assist with permitting, and redevelop contaminated properties. This position offers a pathway to becoming the Senior Engineering Manager, responsible for creating senior designs and permanent solutions to complex engineering problems.Responsibilities
Lead teams of engineers to develop and implement remediation strategies.Assist with permitting and redevelopment of contaminated properties.Perform final review on work products produced within the Engineering Group.Design and implement pollution control systems related to soil, groundwater, air, wastewater, and hazardous waste cleanup.Scope projects, write proposals, prepare budgets, and present technical papers associated with projects.Manage and develop personnel within the Engineering Group.Collaborate with managers in other groups and departments.Perform personnel management of 1 to 2 employees.Oversee work performed by the Engineering Group, including assigning tasks, reviewing work products, and assisting in staff development.Identify, coach, and mentor Engineering staff to successfully complete projects.Interpret existing regulations and guidance and coordinate with consultants to ensure compliance related to engineered systems.Design and develop in situ remediation strategies tailored to specific site conditions and contaminant types.Review remedial system data to evaluate efficiency and optimize performance.Prepare and submit permit applications to regulatory agencies, including compiling necessary documentation, data, and reports.Minimum Requirements
Licensed engineer (PE) in one or more states.8 years of experience in environmental consulting.Ability to perform engineering tasks independently.Environmental engineering experience or civil/mechanical engineering experience with environmental expertise.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with environmental permitting.Experience with in situ remediation design.Air permitting experience.Compliance knowledge.Spill prevention control expertise.Storm water plans knowledge.Wastewater discharge permits and hazardous waste management.Education & Certifications
Degree in environmental science or related field.Current Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, OSHA Hazwoper 40 Hour Certification, General Industry 10 or 30 Hour Certifications.Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.The work environment is primarily office-based (75% or more), with up to 25% field/site visit travel, which may involve environmental job hazards.
