Job Summary: Geisinger is currently seeking an exceptional Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) trained physician to join our growing team at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) located in Danville, PA!
Job Duties:At Geisinger, our innovative ideas are inspired by the communities, patients, & families we serve. We do things differently to reach our unique patient population in central, south-central & northeast PA with high-quality pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) services. Our revolutionary approaches to local community outreach include tools like telemedicine, leveraging a robust EHR for pediatric-specific decision support to reach a previously PEM underserved population. Our brand new 9-bed pediatric zone was designed with babies, children, teens, and their families in mind. Using nitrous sedation, we do our best to remain an “ouch-less” ED, and with over 50 certified PEM nurses throughout the system, quality, safety, and comfort are our top priorities. Children admitted from our ED are cared for in Geisinger's Janet Weis Children's Hospital, a 90-bed, 5-floor on-site children's hospital that includes a 14-bed PICU and 41-bed NICU. Our children's hospital provides a comprehensive range of pediatric services including a full array of medical and surgical subspecialties.Geisinger is seeking candidates with superior clinical and interpersonal skills and a strong desire to participate in program development, medical education, and research. GMC, a Magnet Hospital, maintains the region's only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. GMC offers an array of highly specialized medical and surgical services, including neurosciences, cardiovascular services, transplantation, women's health (in the Women's Pavilion), oncology and orthopaedics.
