Job Description

Job Duties: Vice President, Banker - Industry/Country Coverage with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in San Francisco, California. Execute a full range of financial transactions, with a focus on Mergers and Acquisitions, Debt Issuances and Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) for companies in the technology, media and telecom industry (TMT) globally. Perform deep-dive valuation and other financial analyses (including discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, merger consequences, comparable companies, and precedent transactions) during buy-side or sell-side M&A or financing processes (e.g., impact of issuing equity, debt, or repurchasing shares) to present to corporates, financial sponsors, and private clients. Analyze accounting and regulatory statements, debt and equity filings and documents, financial projections, and models to support analyses. Work with industry coverage group, interact and coordinate with both clients and other groups within the Firm, including Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Legal and Compliance divisions. Work closely with Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, other Associates and Analysts in the Firm. Day-to-day interaction with senior and junior bankers relating to the preparation of financial exhibits, marketing documents and information memorandums for clients. Interact with client executives, working with other bankers to help guide clients in their financial decisions. Coordinate with teams across divisions to prepare client marketing or sales memoranda. Lead aspects of executing financial transactions, which includes, but is not limited to, interacting with client management or potential buyers on a daily basis, analyzing financial statements, conducting due diligence, drafting financing or marketing materials, and preparing debt, equity, or merger filings and regulatory documents (including SEC-filed documents, press releases, and merger proxies). Lead, mentor, and train multiple teams of investment banking associates and analysts.

Job Requirements:

Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field AND three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field AND five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience with Master's degree or five (5) years of experience with Bachelor's degree with the following: building and reviewing proprietary financial models or analyses (such as M&A, DCF, LBO, or other analyses) for companies in the TMT sector; leading dialogue when liaising with other senior team members, clients, and product experts throughout the firm; leading development of client overview materials, including strategic considerations, modeling work and presentations prepared for clients, corporate board meetings, business development pitches for new business, and client service projects on corporate finance topics and marketing materials for organizations to convey their key attributes to investors and other parties; developing strategic alternatives and making recommendations to clients as to their best course of action; synthesizing and analyzing research from a variety of sources to develop presentations to clients with overviews of key sectors - using both quantitative and qualitative techniques; facilitating client working group sessions with senior executives to develop new ideas and input into strategic planning process, including helping clients develop tools to measure the financial impact of initiatives; and presenting to CEO / CFO level corporate clients in the technology, media and telecom, and other sectors on topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activities, restructuring alternatives and corporate governance issues at board meetings and pitches and on conference calls. FINRA Series 79 license required within 3 months of hire. Domestic travel required 10% of the time for client and industry meetings. All travel expenses paid by the firm.

Salary Range:

Annual base salary for this San Francisco, California-based position is $250,000/year - $300,000/year.
