Department of Neurological Sciences is seeking a

Neurointensivist

to join our distinguished Neurocritical Care Program. RUMC is a nationally recognized academic institution and teaching hospital for Rush Medical College located in downtown Chicago. The candidate will join a collaborative team of 6 Neurology-trained and 2 Anesthesiology-trained Neurointensivists. This position is a full-time faculty position. Candidate should be eligible for faculty appointment in Rush Medical College at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.The Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit at Rush is a state-of-the-art 28 bed unit housed in the Acute and Critical Care Tower and with an adjacent 128-slice dual energy CT scanner. The breadth of patient care is diverse, with over 100 subarachnoid hemorrhages and 200 intracerebral hemorrhages a year. The Rush Neuroscience ICU is a closed-unit model with a dedicated team of residents, fellows, advance practice providers, pharmacist, nutritionist and the Neurointensivist who is the primary attending physician. The team works in collaboration with multi-disciplinary specialists, including three full-time endovascular surgeons, three vascular neurosurgeons, and eight stroke neurologists. The Rush Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit has the full breadth of multi-modality monitoring including continuous EEG, Pupillometry, Licox, and Cerebral microdialysis.Candidates should be board certified or board eligible and have completed a UCNS-accredited, two-year neurocritical care fellowship. Rush University and the Department of Neurological Sciences place a premium on high quality teaching and research. The Department infrastructure provides an environment conducive to fostering strong, lasting mentor relationships, and is fully supportive of helping faculty members accomplish their academic goals. Rush is an ACGME and UCNS-accredited fellowship training program that currently trains four fellows each year. Participation in, as well as development of, clinical trials and protocols are encouraged and facilitated by our own section Research Coordinator. In addition, faculty within the Department of Neurological Sciences have access to a full-time PhD-level biostatistician to help with research projects.Rush University System for Health (RUSH)
