Position: Medical Director of Transplant Hepatology - Tulane University School of MedicineSpecialty: Transplant Hepatology, Liver Transplant, Gastroenterology, Internal MedicineLocation: New Orleans, LAPosition SpecificsThe Tulane Transplant Institute seeks a dynamic transplant hepatologist to lead the expansion of the liver transplant program at one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the country. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to build Tulane's already well-established liver transplant program (3 txpt hepatologists, 3 txpt surgeons) into one of the nation's preeminent destinations for liver transplantation.Recently, the COM Dean and the CEO of the Health System have identified the expansion of the liver transplant program as one of their top strategic priorities. Additionally, the Chair of Medicine (a gastroenterologist) and the Chair of Surgery (a transplant surgeon) have formalized their support for this initiative through their joint recruitment of Dr. Hoonbae Jeon as Surgical Director of Liver Transplant in early 2018. As such, the incoming medical director will have significant resources and enterprise-wide support for program building. The ideal candidate will be an excellent clinician, board certified/eligible in transplant hepatology, and eager to build the hepatology and liver transplant services. Prior leadership experience preferred but not required.Required QualificationsQualified applicants must possess an MD, DO, or equivalent and must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Louisiana.
