This role requires deep technical expertise in data management, a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance key data governance initiatives.DescriptionStrategic Contribution:
Provide subject matter expertise in the development and execution of Apple’s data governance strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that governance initiatives align with business needs and regulatory obligations, with a strong focus on building data catalogs, authorization services, privacy infrastructure, and compliance reporting solutions.Policy Advisory:
Work closely with the User Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams to develop and refine data governance policies and standards. Ensure these frameworks are designed to promote data quality, security, and accessibility throughout its lifecycle.Risk Mitigation and Compliance:
Stay informed on evolving regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and assist in designing solutions that ensure compliance and minimize data governance risks.Data Quality and Metadata Leadership:
Champion data quality and metadata management initiatives, creating frameworks to enhance data accuracy, reliability, and governance processes.Cross-Functional Engagement:
Act as a primary liaison between business units, legal, security, and privacy teams, embedding data governance principles into everyday operational practices. Drive collaboration on governance-related projects.Technical Influence:
Serve as a technical expert and thought leader within the data governance space, mentoring engineers and influencing the architecture and direction of data governance solutions at Apple.8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields, with a focus on technical implementation and strategic influence.Strong expertise in data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry best practices for data governance.Proven experience in implementing data governance frameworks and driving impactful change within large-scale organizations.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across various levels.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Experience in technology companies or environments with large-scale data operations.Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
