to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.What you’ll achieveWork with our internal partners (Chief Technology Office, System Architects, Platform Planners) to architect new and innovative experiences spanning firmware, software and hardware for our client platforms. Provide strong technical point of view in decisions when collaborating across multiple lines of business; including industrial design, marketing, usability, quality, and reliability.You will:Create, design and review architectural collateral, documenting the scope of our firmware features. Prototype potential solutions to comprehend feasibility.Gather business requirements and drive product definition and prioritization for firmware features. Influence the hardware and software direction for features that span beyond firmware.Generate Intellectual Property to protect innovations.Balance short term versus long term actions, strategic vs tactical requirements, while continuing to align the architectural road map to achieve the strategic vision.Assess and optimize program tradeoffs such as cost, performance, quality, and schedule, while making the proper feature tradeoffs between firmware, electrical, power and thermal requirements.Take the first step towards your dream careerEvery Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here’s what we are looking for with this role:Essential RequirementsUEFI BIOS and/or Embedded Controller development experience with Intel and/or AMD x86, and ARM system architectures.Excellent communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal skills and experience in presenting to business and technical teams in an effective and persuasive manner. High degree of efficacy to navigate and relate to multiple audience levels.Strong system level architecture experience for both hardware and firmware.Familiarity with various hardware bus interfaces such as PCI, SMBUS, USB Type C, LPC, I2C, etc.Strong programming experience using languages such as C, C++ or C#.Desirable RequirementsBachelors or higher degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a similar field, with 10+ years of industry experience.Experience with Jira, Confluence, and using analyzers and other hardware tools to debug complex system software issues.CompensationDell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
