As the Lead Pilot for C&S Aviation, you will oversee and direct all flight crew members. Core areas of responsibility will include ensuring flight operations run safely and effectively in efforts to provide a very high-quality customer experience, management of all Captains, Second in Commands and Contractors, and acting as department manager in the absence of the Director of Aviation.
You will contribute by:
Captain Flights for Day-to-Day Operations
Maintain qualification in two of the company aircraft fleet types and perform line pilot duties as required;
Utilize time flying the clients to ensure the quality of standards are met, and the flight crew get the appropriate support.
Management of Flight Crew
Supervise Captains and Second-in-Command pilots; Set goals, provide feedback and support, and manage all aspects from hiring to termination of flight crew.
Engage directly with and manage 3rd party resource Second in Command contractors as needed to support the business.
Maintain compliance with Company policy, FAA, aircraft, and operating procedures. Ensure operational standards meet or exceed regulatory requirements by crews and that all customs requirements are met for international flights.
Maintain a flight following system to ensure accurate passenger accounting for each flight; Schedule crews to ensure compliance with Company and FAA regulations regarding currency, flight, and duty times.
Ensure pilot safety education and training are maintained. Supervise, train, and provide guidance for all company crew members, including quarterly flight checks of crew members.
Participate in the change management processes when required.
Flight Operations and Compliance
Ensure crews are reviewing and properly calculating the aircraft weight, balance, fuel on board/fuel required and performance of the aircraft as required.
Review deviation reports, including engagements with team members; analyze findings, track trends, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Review flight members’ flight and duty records for accuracy; Review pilot materials and manuals every quarter and assist the Director of Aviation with edits, comments, or revisions to maintain accuracy and currency.
Perform departmental audits, analyze findings, track trends, and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure positive communications with flight crew members, 3rd party contractors, fleet technicians, scheduling, and the Director of Aviation.
Support Director of Aviation and Safety Program
In the absence of the Director of Aviation, act as departmental manager on duty in a rotating on-call schedule as needed. Provide support as needed to answer operational questions or prevent delays or cancellations and ensure safe operation.
Assist the Director of Aviation with Budget and Forecast processes specific to flight operations. Assist the Director of Aviation in developing and instituting department policies and procedures, including basic company policies, procedures, and objectives into departmental functions.
Assist the safety officer with the investigation of, analysis of, and management of all SMS reports. Review for corrective actions in partnership with the Director of Aviation.
Travel Required: Yes
We’re looking for candidates with:
10-15 Years of Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation through the military or certified program and minimum total flight time of 7500 hours and 2500 hours in Jet with at least one Jet type rating required.
A Deep understanding of aircraft types, operational considerations, and safety regulations in private aviation.
Currently holding a valid Airline Transport Pilot License and a valid Instrument Rating for the category of aircraft operated.
Holding a type rating for at least two aircraft in the fleet, ideally Falcon & Challenger 300. Bombardier Global is also preferred.
Qualification in accordance with the operator’s training program to act as a Pilot-in-Command on one of the types to be operated.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to quickly respond to emergency situations with appropriate actions.
Excellent knowledge of Federal Aviation regulations and safety procedures.
Strong customer service background.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Demonstrated knowledge of the content of the Flight Operations Manual, Training Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, Company Check Pilot Manual (if applicable), and the provisions of the civil aviation regulations and standards necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Ability to support overnight travel, including multiple days abroad in other countries.
