One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking

Principal / Sr. Principal Manufacturing Architect-Execution

with demonstrated ability to lead development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.

Responsibilities:

Leads a team responsible for system integration and setup of the manufacturing execution system.

Responsible for schedule execution, escalation of issues, and providing team direction and clarity.

Creates acceptance test plans with the team based off business processes from the manufacturing organization.

Point of contact for vendor cross talk with integration and acceptance plans.

Collaborate on MES startup with an industry leading vendor for a new manufacturing line.

Collaborate with the vendor on deploying manufacturing master data modeling architectures and Best-Known Methods (BKMs).

Works with the team to create plans, products, and incorporate business processes into the MES for the manufacturing line.

Applies systems engineering best practices, principles, and concepts to architectures within a manufacturing context.

Serves as a role model and sets the example, whose behavior is emulated by other engineering team members.

This position can be filled at either the Principal or Sr. Principal level.

This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.

Basic Qualifications for Principal System Architect: Manufacturing Execution:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a similar technical discipline with 5 years of related experience, or 3 years with a Master's Degree, or 0 years with a PhD.

Has experience in leading teams, performing work breakdown, tasking, and delivering to schedule needs.

Able to drive execution of Statement of Work (SOW) components with vendors and work cross team.

Experience with modern automated factory systems in a semiconductor or microelectronics fab.

Strong skills in problem solving / troubleshooting.

Understands data relationships between products, plans, recipes, and varying levels of manufacturing containers (lots, wafers, die, etc.).

Experience with core data groups in MES systems (equipment, products, consumables, etc.).

Limited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be required.

This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal System Architect: Manufacturing Execution:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a similar technical discipline with 8 years of related experience, or 6 years with a Master's Degree, or 3 years with a PhD.

Has experience in leading teams, performing work breakdown, tasking, and delivering to schedule needs.

Able to drive execution of Statement of Work (SOW) components with vendors and work cross team.

Experience with modern automated factory systems in a semiconductor or microelectronics fab.

Strong skills in problem solving / troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree or higher in systems engineering or industrial engineering.

Experience with starting up a modern automated Manufacturing Execution System for a new manufacturing line.

Experience with semi-automated track in / track out product within an MES.

Experience working in semiconductor manufacturing as process integrator, software or IT engineer, or manufacturing engineer.

Has developed acceptance test plans for large software systems.

Able to explain experiment management within R&D manufacturing concepts.

Deep understanding of how MES integrates with broader systems in a CIM architecture including but not limited to Fault Detection, Equipment Integration, Recipe Management, Statistical Process Control, Advanced Process Control, Inventory, etc.

Has worked with Applied Materials SmartFactory Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) solution.

Salary Range:

$102,400 - $160,900

Salary Range 2:

$127,000 - $199,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
