I. JOB IDENTIFICATION

D. REPORTS TO:
Lutheran Education Foundation Board of Trustees
E. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
To provide overall Christian leadership and vision to the LEF, its staff, and Board of Trustees for advancement efforts supporting Lincoln Lutheran and the Lincoln Lutheran School Association (LLSA). To serve as the official representative of the Lutheran Education Foundation (LEF) to the community, Association congregations, and donors. To set the strategic direction for the LEF and review and maintain the current strategic plan.
II. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A. EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, education, or similar. Master’s degree and/or advanced certification in fundraising and philanthropy encouraged.
B. EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in advancement and fundraising with 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role preferred.
Proven track record in soliciting and securing major gifts and building relationships with donors, alumni, and community stakeholders.
Demonstrated characteristics of leadership, vision, and strategic thinking and planning.
Demonstrated ability to resolve complex financial/budgetary issues, prepare/administer budgets, and develop long-range strategic and operational plans.
Experience and proficiency in the design, implementation, and administration of a successful fund development program to support the Lincoln Lutheran School Association (LLSA)/LEF financial needs.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead people.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with partners outside of reporting structure.

III. JOB FUNCTIONS
A. SPECIFIC:
Develop the LEF Board to provide focused and strategic fundraising for ministry.
Develop and implement comprehensive advancement strategies that include annual gifts, major gifts, planned giving, alumni relations, and comprehensive campaigns.
In conjunction with the Advancement Team, design, develop, and lead a successful fund development program to support LLSA and LEF financial needs and, to the extent feasible, work with LLSA congregation school administration to develop a plan for fund development of Christ-centered Lutheran Education in Lincoln, NE.
Establish and maintain ongoing professional relationships with gift prospects and benefactors.
Coordinate with school administration the planning and implementation of all fundraising activities of Lincoln Lutheran, including overall advancement goals and ensure priorities are aligned with the LLSA and LEF mission.
Provide leadership and direction for the advancement team, including hiring, training, and evaluation of performance.
Prepare and manage LEF operation budget.
Report on overall strategy and progress toward goals to LEF Board of Trustees.
GENERAL:
Maintain professionalism and integrity throughout the department and in all interactions.
Maintenance of complete and accurate records.
Comply with federal, state, and city laws as they relate to the functions of the office.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
