Chief Development Officer

EmBe is seeking a dynamic and results-minded Chief Development Officer to advance its mission. The CDO will work in concert with the CEO and Board of Directors to foster a culture of philanthropy and provide leadership to institutionalize the work of philanthropy and fund development within the organization.

The CDO will be actively engaged in developing, implementing and executing strategic development program, including donor acquisition and retention, special events, annual giving campaigns, corporate and individual major gifts, endowment giving, grants and capital campaign efforts and achieving annual development goals. The Chief Development Officer oversees all of the organization’s fundraising and nurtures relationships with sponsors, individuals and corporate donors and drives the grant process overall while partnering with internal and external stakeholders.This individual is responsible for raising enough money to meet the organization’s financial goals, forecasting future income and gathering feedback from donors.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of proven non-profit development experience required; fundraising certifications are beneficial but not requisite. Proven executive level leadership skills and demonstrated fund development program management is essential. A demonstrated skill and confidence in asking people to contribute time and money, and in developing authentic relationships built on trust is imperative.
