DescriptionThe successful candidate for this pivotal position will play a key role in leading the business development strategy, customer engagement, and opportunity identification and qualification for the Department of State (DOS). This role involves close collaboration with the Civilian Business Group Executive Team, Business Developers, and Capture Managers.Responsibilities:Develop and cultivate relationships between the company, strategic partners, and key DOS contacts.Identify, develop, and implement both short-term and long-term business strategies to drive revenue growth.Take ownership of maintaining long-term relationships with DOS contacts, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and contributing to the growth of SAIC revenues.Act as the primary interface for all SAIC products and services, ensuring a deep understanding of DOS's evolving business needs. Align these needs with SAIC capabilities to provide comprehensive life-cycle solutions.Proactively engage with customers before and after the sale, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and fostering enduring partnerships.Provide essential support to the sales team by developing and nurturing positive customer relations. These relationships play a critical role in influencing service and product revenues.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field and 18 years relevant experience. Advanced degree preferred.Proven experience in business development, particularly within the State Department.Demonstrated success in cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and government agencies. Existing customer contacts and industry peer relationships within DOS.Knowledge of DOS contracting, acquisition trends, customer buying behaviors and industry business development best practices (e.g., Shipley).Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective business strategies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.Understanding of the federal procurement process and contracting mechanisms.
