The Lead of Process Engineering for Carbon Capture will oversee all engineering efforts related to these initiatives, collaborating with technology owners and EPC contractors to manage a team focused on process engineering design and ensuring the quality of third-party work.Job Summary
Provides engineering and technical support for new projects and build-outs. Works to help identify and develop new technologies and applications to determine advisability of moving forward with projects. Analyzes technical aspects and provides costs and budgeting for planning and cost analytics, ensuring spending for overall budgets, schedules, and performance standards are maintained and achieved.Maintains the efficiency of important aspects of the project management process such as planning, scheduling, coordination, and budget, and risk assessment. Defines and develops project management best practices, processes, and policies to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and goals. Responsible for the supervision of Project Managers to ensure that all projects are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time, and cost requirements.Specialized Job Responsibilities
Support the design for the existing portfolio of FEED studies and pilot projects.Assist with engineering input on projects that receive positive FID during the EPC phase.Support the business development process by providing technical input into feasibility projects.Seek out and evaluate new CCUS technologies.Provide engineering troubleshooting support to operational projects.Grow the process engineering team as required to support Calpine Corporation’s portfolio of current and future carbon capture programs.Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.Ensure that all design and project work comply with applicable legislation and standards.Strive to constantly improve process capability and production volume.Job Requirements
