The Opportunity:

Join NAVSEA 03S as the lead Enterprise Architect for the Navy Maintenance and Modernization Enterprise Solution (NMMES).

Play a crucial role in designing and implementing enterprise-wide IT architecture supporting naval ship and submarine maintenance operations.

Develop architectural solutions for complex systems serving over 45,000 users across global Navy facilities, including Navy Shipyards and Intermediate Maintenance Facilities.

Lead initiatives to modernize legacy systems while integrating cutting-edge technologies and web applications.

Drive the strategic direction of NMMES architecture, balancing customer-driven enhancements with technology obsolescence challenges.

Oversee the full enterprise architecture lifecycle, from conceptualization to implementation and evolution.

Apply SAFe Agile methodologies to improve architectural processes and team efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership for specifying, designing, implementing, testing, accrediting, deploying, and sustaining enterprise system and service architectures in a distributed, net-centric environment.

Leverage DoD policies, architectural frameworks, and commercial best practices to design and develop Service Oriented Architectures that satisfy enterprise scale requirements.

Lead system architects and engineers in decomposing enterprise architecture into system components and services for analysis, design, implementation, testing, accreditation, deployment, and sustainment.

Keep abreast of new enterprise architecture solutions including leading-edge technologies such as grid computing, cloud computing, and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

Maintain technical currency on evolving technology trends and available COTS products that implement these technologies.

Ensure integration between legacy systems and modern web-based applications running on multiple operating systems.

Develop and maintain enterprise architecture documentation and standards.

Implement and champion SAFe Agile practices within the NMMES enterprise architecture process.

Qualifications:

Required:

Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret clearance.

Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) preferred.

At least 12 years of experience in enterprise architecture or related field within DoD/Navy programs.

Extensive knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and practices, particularly in managing complex, global IT systems.

Proven experience leading technical teams and managing full enterprise architecture lifecycle processes.

SAFe Agilist (SA) certification or higher.

Desired:

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience with naval maintenance and modernization systems or similar complex DoD programs.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance legacy system architectures with new technology integration.

Advanced SAFe certifications such as SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or SAFe Architect.

Proficiency in architecting both legacy systems and modern, web-based applications.

Experience in designing architectures that span multiple operating systems and technology platforms.

Knowledge of relevant DoD and Navy standards for enterprise architecture and system interoperability.

Expertise in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), cloud computing, and other emerging technologies.

Familiarity with DoD architectural frameworks such as DoDAF.

Pay Range:

The proposed salary range for this position is: $104,200-$229,200.
