Our company culture embraces diversity, inclusion, and overall work-life balance.In this position you will manage or perform highway related design tasks for freeways, freeway interchanges, and streets including geometric design, 3D modeling, drainage design, work zone traffic control and construction staging, construction specification development and material quantity calculations. You will utilize engineering software and interface with CAD designers, as well as other engineers and subcontractors. Keys to your success will be your managerial and communication skills, civil engineering acumen and highway design background.RESPONSIBILITIES:Independently develop and/or supervise the creation of roadway engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes establishing the work scope, engineering development, production of plans, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status. Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses.Develop and optimize roadway geometry for major highway projects.Lead a team of design professionals in assembling design reports and Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for major highway projects.Establish quality control documents in association with the above-mentioned assignments.Support multi-disciplinary design development teams for project execution including for design-build projects in the Midwest and across North America.Qualifications:4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)Strong Illinois highway design experience including past projects for IDOT, ISTHA, CDOT, Cook and/or collar counties.10 + years’ experience working with roadway geometry for major highway projects including planning and final design.Experience with development of plans, specifications, and estimates for large scale projects and/or experience leading a team of design professionals in PS&E submittals.Illinois P.E. License is required.Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with highway design and checking is required.Proficiency with Microstation and experience/working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer applications desired.Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control documents in accordance with company procedures.Minimum Clearance Required to Start:
