As the Head of Architecture you will be responsible for defining and implementing the architectural vision and strategy for our platform, with special focus on helping envision architecture solutions for our customers. You will lead a small team of architects, ensuring our architectural practices are aligned with business objectives and are scalable, robust, and secure.
Your role will involve evaluating new technologies, designing high-level solutions, providing technical oversight, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and senior leadership.
Our headquarters is in Irvine, CA, but you can work remotely from anywhere in the United States.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Architectural Vision & Strategy:
Define, communicate, and drive the architectural vision and strategy that aligns with Qmerit's business goals and objectives.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of architects, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Solution Design:
Design and oversee high-level architectural frameworks and solutions that meet the needs of the business, with a focus on robustness, scalability, and security.
Technical Oversight:
Provide expert technical guidance and oversight for key projects, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, best practices, and timeline commitments.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with senior leadership, product teams, and other stakeholders to ensure architectural practices support business goals and technical requirements.
Quality & Performance:
Drive a focus on quality, performance, and security across all architectural practices and implementations.
Innovation & Improvement:
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, promoting innovative solutions, especially using AI, that push the boundaries of current capabilities.
Architectural Reviews:
Conduct regular architectural reviews and assessments to ensure adherence to best practices and strategic alignment.
Documentation:
Develop and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation to support ongoing projects and future initiatives.
Industry Awareness:
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, integrating relevant insights into the architectural strategy.
Cross-functional Communication:
Facilitate clear and effective communication between technical and non-technical teams, bridging gaps and ensuring a shared understanding of architectural objectives.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent preferred.
10+ years of experience in architecture and engineering roles.
Proven track record of successful project delivery.
Strong understanding of architectural principles and best practices.
Experience with cloud computing and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure or AWS.
Experience with a variety of technologies and frameworks.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Knowledge of security and compliance standards.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong focus on quality, performance, and security.
Experience with agile and iterative development methodologies.
Ability to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary: $180 - 190K + Bonus
Full Benefit Package including Medical/Dental/Vision. Twelve (12) paid Company Holidays, paid vacation per year, forty (40) hours of sick leave per year as further described in the sick leave policy, life and long-term disability insurance, 401k Plan with a 3% match.
