Job SummaryThe Chief Operating Officer is an experienced and compassionate leader with experience working in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities field. In this role, you will work closely with the CEO to achieve the short-term and long-term directives and strategies for Indian Creek Foundation’s ongoing success. Along with the CEO, you will lead the agency strategic planning process. Your experience in non-profit leadership will inform your decisions in matters of finance, operations, staff development, community relations, and government policy. We will rely on you to manage the operational responsibilities of the main campus building. You will also embrace opportunities to showcase our organization to stakeholders in the community and beyond as a highly qualified agency and a valuable resource. This position requires a proven track record of effective management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to always think both analytically and creatively.
Basic QualificationsEducation/TrainingBachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s degree preferred, in related field or appropriate professional certification. Detailed knowledge of the laws, regulations, and statutes that govern Indian Creek Foundation required.
Experience7-10 years of progressively responsible experience working with people with developmental disabilities. Significant management experience in the health care industry required.

Essential Duties
Stand in as chief officer responsible for all activities when the CEO is absent.
Manage the measurement and effectiveness of all internal and external processes. Provide timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the company.
Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies to improve effectiveness of all internal and external processes.
Develop and implement quality initiatives:
Develop the logic model for Indian Creek Foundation to evaluate the inputs we use to achieve improvement in our clients’ wellbeing.
Develop measurements of outcomes for our clients.
Monitor our programs’ performance as based on outcomes and adjust our logic model as necessary or eliminate non-effective programs.
Lead the agency strategic planning process under the direction of and in collaboration with the CEO.
Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes in alignment with the Strategic Plan.
Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
Represent the company at various community activities. Meet and network regularly with business leaders in the community.
Oversee the HIPAA Security Officer, directing and implementing policy and procedure related to HIPAA.
Oversee Agency Incident Management Program including reporting and investigations.
Oversee the Agency Maintenance Department.
Oversee building operations at the Cowpath Road Campus and interface with the Residential Director regarding building operation of the group homes.
Oversee all marketing and development activities for the agency.
Other Duties
Assist the CEO with various administrative tasks to support department operations as directed; may also be assigned special projects.
Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.
Meet on-going training requirements to maintain current certifications.
Provide leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice.
Monitor quality measures and budgets. Track progress toward achievement of the operational and strategic plans and implement actions necessary to correct any deficiencies. Report results and progress regularly to the Board of Directors.
Standard Requirements
Completion and clearance of a criminal background check and a child abuse clearance.
Supports the Mission and values of Indian Creek Foundation and the program.
Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all individuals served in a safe, secure environment.
Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for:
Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety plans, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair, and maintenance needs.
Confidentiality of all data, including individuals served, employee, and operations data.
Compliance with all regulatory requirements and agency policies as required by Human Resources, licensing, and funding agencies.
Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with HIPAA standards.
Conducts oneself in a professional manner when representing Indian Creek Foundation.
Functions as a member of the Team:
Cooperates and works together with all co-workers, plans and complete job duties with minimal direct supervision and appropriate judgment.
Uses tactful and appropriate communications in all situations.
Reports and follows up regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns with appropriate personnel.
Promotes positive public relations with individuals served, family members, other team members, and community.
Completes requirements for training, acceptable attendance, dress codes including personal hygiene and other work duties as assigned.
Completes all documentation to ensure compliance with all regulations and agency policies.
Exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in performance of their duties.
Completes annual compliance HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in performance of duties.
