To address the growing demands within the Department of Defense, SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Chief Data/AI Engineer to join our Digital and AI Team as we embark on a large initiative to lead the design and operate integrated Enterprise IT solutions that deliver AI-enabled capabilities and enable data-driven decision making to missions across the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands.Role Summary:
The Chief Applied AI Scientist will lead development, continuous monitoring, continual improvement, and operations of cutting-edge analytic, AI/ML, RPA, and decision support solutions for SAIC’s CJADC2 and Enterprise AI portfolios, fostering improved decision-making and operational efficiency for the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands.Core Responsibilities:Innovate and enhance CJADC2 systems, including operational analysis and design proposal.Oversee the development of emerging technology pipelines aligned with strategic growth.Lead proposal efforts, creating AI/ML solutions within the CDAO's fast-paced environment.Cultivate relationships with stakeholders, addressing their specific challenges and barriers.Guarantee ethical, transparent, and compliant AI solutions in accordance with legal standards.Remain abreast of AI/ML technological trends and competitive insights.QualificationsEssential Qualifications:Possess a minimum of an active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.Possess a minimum of five years of experience with full lifecycle and secure and automated development of at least one of the following: data management, data analytics or Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML).Preferred Qualifications:Master’s or doctoral degree in a related technical discipline.Possess experience with data visualization packages in Python or similar programming languages.Possess experience with supervised and unsupervised deep learning algorithms like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) and advanced deep learning packages such as TensorFlow, Keras, Pytorch, Caffe, and Theano.Possess experience with one of the large cloud-computing infrastructure solutions similar to AWS, MS Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.Possess experience utilizing Agile development methodologies and Application Lifecycle Management.Possess experience working with programming languages such as Java, C++, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, Pig/Hive, and/or Elixir.Strong publication record.
