UNIT EXECUTIVE DIRECTORSMILOW-BURROUGHS CLUBHOUSE

Wakeman Boys & Girls Club is searching for a cause driven, mission-oriented executive leader to join our team for our Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouse in Bridgeport, CT. PRIMARY FUNCTION:

High-energy, results-oriented individual for our 23,000 sqft state-of-the-art Clubhouse in the West End of Bridgeport, CT. You must have a well-rounded background with experience in operations & implementation in program disciplines of Academic Success (including camp & Childcare operations), Character & Leadership Development, Health & Well-being, and Life & Career Readiness; proven financial management expertise; facility operations, and most importantly, a proven track record in staff team leadership and development is required. Success will be determined by the ability to manage the operations of the Clubhouse by establishing a culture of excellence, being visible and present within the Clubhouse and community, developing and supporting the staff team, and continually monitoring and maintaining the fiscal strength of the clubhouse. This is a pivotal role that will directly impact how members, parents, and the community receive the highest quality in Boys & Girls Club programs and services in Bridgeport, CT. This position will be a member of the WBGC Leadership Team. BGCA experience is preferred or comparable experience in a similar line of business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and 6-10 years in an executive role with proven abilities in operations, program development & implementation, staff management and development, board development, membership & program marketing, financial management, fundraising and community programs.

Ability to think conceptually, good analytical skills, and assertiveness to manage the scope and diversity of the responsibilities, multiple demands and priorities and achieve organizational objectives.

Experience working effectively in a mission-oriented and diverse environment.

Must be open, responsive, and inspirational with the ability to relate to all people.

Effective communication and public speaking skills, including experience presenting to community and government leaders.

Ability to work effectively and respond to safety and emergency situations.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Bilingual is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Promote(s) and represent(s) the mission and values of the Boys & Girls Club. Participates as a member of the Leadership Team(s) and contributes to an exemplary Boys & Girls Club image.

Performs daily walk-through inspections to ensure that all areas of the Clubhouse are clean, neat, organized, and like new.

Manages budgets, forecasts revenue and expenses for each department monthly/quarterly/annually.

Manages supplies, payroll, cost of goods, and expenses for each department monthly/quarterly/annually.

Cultivates and connects members and donors to the mission and purpose of Wakeman Boys & Girls Club culminating in their commitment to volunteerism and financial support (fundraising).

Meets one-on-one with each department director to ensure they are meeting and exceeding budgetary goals.

Mentors and motivates department directors to ensure continuous growth through training, developing, direction, assessing performance, and providing feedback.

Provides effective individual performance evaluations and recognition programs and awards.

Creates and sustains an environment that values all people for their unique talents. Takes an active role in promoting and leveraging practices that support diversity, inclusion, global engagement, and cultural competence.

Builds community resources through cultivation and development of relationships. Actively engage members, volunteers, and community leaders in the Wakeman BGC mission.

Authorizes new hires, promotions, employee status changes, and terminations with department directors.

Promotes and sustains an environment where Safety and Child Protection are at the highest priority and has zero tolerance for non-compliance.

Develops positive, collaborative relationships with community organizations, outside vendors, volunteers, staff, national staff, and Administration Office support staff.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range:Competitive base salary range based on experience $85,000-$100,000.
