Position Summary:Walmart’s Transactional System group provides core transactional systems to enable segment and technology partners in creating wonderful omni experiences with speed and leverage. We are a highly motivated group of engineers, working in an agile group to solve sophisticated and high impact problems. This role is part of Cloud Powered Checkout team and will build the next generation multi-tenant, client agnostic, highly scalable, omni channel checkout solution to seamlessly enable a frictionless customer checkout experience across all sales channels globally. We process millions of orders daily through our high-performance checkout services running in Edge and Cloud.About Team:Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.What you'll do:Drive the development of technical solutions across engineering, and operation teams by providing technical leadership, guidance, and direction.Assess current systems and processes, and develop ways to improve them. Work closely toward resiliency and hardening to have a robust system.Work closely with key stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and application development teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of technical/operational solutions.Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.Lead proof-of-concept projects, evaluate new technologies, and deliver recommendations based on feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business requirements.Work with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.What you'll bring:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 4+ years of Industry experience.Must have Jprofiler and Object-oriented programming, any Application performance monitoring tool expertise.Production deployment update (Canary based), Traffic Shaping, Failover and Load Balancing.Extensive experience in RESTful Microservices and API design, development, and management.Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker & Kubernetes.Good DB experience including cosmosDB, Azure SQL, NoSQL etc.Experience on unit testing frameworks (Junit, Mocha, etc.) and code quality control platforms like Sonar.Experience in Azure, Google cloud Infrastructure services, Data Platform services (Kafka, Azure Cosmos, Azure SQL, Mega cache etc), CI/CD, Service observability (Metric, Logs, Traces) – Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk etc.About Walmart Global Tech:Imagine working in an environment where one line of code can make life easier for hundreds of millions of people.
