Software Engineer, Mid-Level
Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) is currently looking for a
Software Engineer, Mid-Level
to join our growing team in Gaithersburg, MD. CARS provides integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS.
Duties and Responsibilities:Provide technical leadership and deliver an innovative product, service, or a combination of products and services that address a customer's specific requirements in support of ESRI-based GIS systems.Develop APIs for geospatial data ingest and transmission to external systems using open GIS standards.Provide engineering design input, development, implementation, and sustainment of the mission requirements and enhance overall system security, performance, and availability.Provide documentation of the tools and processes used to build and install the software in the production environment.Provide regular system requirements and capabilities updates to the client, applying current industrial software development best practices.Interact with members of the technical team leads to understand the current system, subsystems, and component specifications.Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience ORAssociate degree and 6+ years of relevant experience ORHigh school diploma or GED equivalent and 8+ years of relevant experience.Demonstrated technical skills in data management and working knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).Experience with ArcGIS Server to create and manage GIS Web services, applications, and data.Experience with GeoServer to share, process, and edit geospatial data.Experience with Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards-based web services.Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python.Experience with building front-end or back-end Java applications or Django Python.Experience with Java Frameworks (Spring, Hibernate) and RESTful web services.Experience with JavaScript Frameworks and tools.Active TS/SCI clearance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to obtain CI Poly.Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone.Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation.
