The Senior Civic Engagement Organizer at JPNDC plays a pivotal role in advancing economic empowerment and civic engagement across Boston. Reporting to the Associate Director of Community Organizing, you will lead and participate in coalitions to advocate for policies that enhance civic engagement and economic mobility. This role involves close collaboration with residents to develop impactful campaigns, conduct comprehensive outreach, facilitate leadership development, and coordinate with community partners. You'll be instrumental in fostering community cohesion, driving advocacy efforts, and empowering underrepresented groups to thrive in Boston's diverse neighborhoods.

Vice President or Associate Director of Community Organizing
What You Will Be Doing:
Implementing Goals:
Collaborate with the Associate Director of Community Organizing and cross-departmentally to pursue strategic goals that build civic engagement and economic empowerment for Boston residents.
Community Collaboration:
Work closely with residents to develop and execute campaigns, identify issues, and create solutions through democratic processes.
Outreach and Engagement:
Conduct comprehensive outreach efforts, including door-to-door canvassing, community flyering, and event participation to engage businesses, residents, and underrepresented groups.
Leadership Development:
Facilitate leadership development among residents, track progress, and recruit volunteers to support JPNDC events and initiatives.
What You'll Bring to the Team
We're looking for someone who's not just qualified, but driven. Someone who's excited about making a difference in the lives of children and their families.
Education:
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or another language, in addition to English, is required. A strong understanding of Microsoft Office, Zoom, Google Apps, and social media platforms.
Skills and Experience:
Proven ability to implement effective strategies that address economic empowerment and community engagement in low-income communities.
Collaboration:
Experience working within coalitions and multidisciplinary teams, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and navigate complex environments.
You'll Stand Out If:
You have experience in social services or organizing aimed at enhancing economic stability in communities.
You're passionate about dismantling structural barriers to economic empowerment in low-income communities of color.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time role with a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends, as needed.
