As a Network Security Engineering Manager you will lead and oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization’s network security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network security, a passion for building secure systems, and proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest levels of security and compliance for our network architecture while aligning with the company’s business objectives. This role will support the overall architecture, design, implementation, and operations of the company network and cloud infrastructure. The Manager will deliver leading-edge expertise to manage critical incidents and problems, and delivers consistent and reliable network operations including DDI, Firewall, VPN and load balancing. The Manager supports governance for the network, driving the implementation of standards, procedures, and quality measures. The Manager will also be a people manager and coach, responsible for developing and performance managing a team.

Primary Duties:

Design and implement robust network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and security protocols. Oversee network segmentation, encryption, and secure access mechanisms to safeguard sensitive data and systems. Collaborate with the security operations center (SOC) to monitor network traffic for vulnerabilities, suspicious activities, and security incidents. Develop and implement incident response procedures, ensuring timely and effective resolution of network security issues. Work closely with IT, software engineering, DevOps, and other teams to integrate security controls and best practices into network design and operations. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network security engineers, providing direction and technical guidance to ensure high-quality deliverables. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in network security engineering, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role. Strong knowledge of network security technologies, protocols, and tools (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, encryption, DLP) and experience with cloud networking security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments. Solid understanding of security frameworks (ISO, NIST, CIS) and regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR). Hands-on experience with network security monitoring tools, SIEMs, and incident response. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

Experience securing cloud environments, particularly in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including familiarity with cloud security controls, architecture, and best practices. Expertise in Zero Trust architectures, SD-WAN, SASE (Secure Access Service Edge), and Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW). In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems like Sumo logic, and network monitoring tools like Wireshark. Strong background in handling network-related incidents and conducting forensic analysis to uncover the cause and impact of security breaches. Previous experience in healthcare, finance, or government sectors, particularly in managing network security within compliance frameworks like HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or SOX. Experience leading large-scale network security projects, from planning and implementation to monitoring and assessment. Ability to automate network security tasks using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages, improving efficiency and response times for security events. Familiarity with DevSecOps and security monitoring in CI/CD environments and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes). Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, CEH, or similar are strongly preferred.
