Position OverviewThis Territory Director (District Director) will serve the St. Charles, Missouri. The Territory Director (District Director) serves as a member of a two-person team that operates a district. Together, they are responsible for the effective organization, operation, and promotion of the council program within the district. Each team member is responsible for achieving district objectives and works with volunteer staff to fulfill their functions and facilitate optimum collaboration between the district and the council.
Responsibilities
Recruit, develop, and maintain an effective volunteer management team.
Maintain a professional working climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates top-quality volunteers.
Ensure the district has a long-range strategy that achieves its mission and makes consistent progress.
Ensure that the flow of funds from the district helps the council to achieve its mission.
Serve as the chief district spokesman for the council to ensure proper representation.
Provide leadership to other professional staff in the district.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal, written communication, and verbal presentation skills.
Proven success and skills in community organization.
Ability to manage a high-functioning Family Campaign Division.
Ability to supervise staff utilizing effective scheduling.
Effective in managing membership and new unit organization to achieve consistent growth.
Ability to manage functioning districts at a high operational level.
Prior experience in Scouting is preferred.
Well organized, detail-oriented, and polished in staff leadership skills.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment with passionate and committed people.
Excellent analytic skills with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
Must handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
Focus on continuous improvement and growth, both within the organization and personally.
A flexible schedule is frequently required for evening/weekend events.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PPT) preferred.
Team player with a positive attitude, willing to learn.
Eligible for employment in the United States of America and commission from the Boy Scouts of America.
Valid driver's license and ability to be insured.
Outstanding written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented, adaptable, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and tasks.
Ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Must be a team player.
Excellent computer and database skills. Familiarity with Blackbaud or a similar CRM.
Must be available to work some evenings, weekends, and extended hours for meetings and events.
