ABOUT YOU:You’re a confident and proven leader with a passion for building partnerships, negotiating stellar deals and uncovering the “next great emerging material” for our production lines. You have an ability to learn current and emerging market trends with ideas to implement cost savings. You’re autonomous and a self-starter with keen insight and experience in the complexity of manufacturing processes, operations management and the supply chain system.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinate and oversee all North American purchasing activities in wholly owned business unitsConsult with purchasing teams in all North America joint venture businessesResponsible for planning and directing materials and supply to reduce costs and improve qualityDevelop and facilitate organizational procurement strategiesImprove the supply chain by reducing costs and maintaining standards for product qualityWork closely with manufacturing managementOngoing value creation of a strong supply baseLead the development and implementation of cost savings initiativesNegotiate all contracts with suppliers with a view toward reducing costs while keeping a high quality of purchased goods and services, including group contracts or individual business contractsWork closely with the Materials & Procurement team to develop strategic plans for sourcing products based on company goals and needsWork with distributors in all markets to negotiate the best prices for raw materials, packaging, equipment and other materialsMonitor supplier improvement plans for all accounts and report product quality and delivery issues, pursuing credits when necessarySet savings targets and monitor for performanceIdentify key categories where combined volume will lead to lower costServe as a point of contact for senior executives from supplier organizationsCreate and manage short, mid, and long-term goals consistent with KPIsManage indirect procurement through identifying new value-add strategies to include indirect spendDevelop and coordinate new policies and procedures regarding procurement processesCoordinate with Quality for all quality matters and work with R&D on innovation, contingency planning and new vendor approval processEvaluate and manage “at risk” or “high risk” suppliers as necessaryDevelop initiatives that facilitate good supplier relationships across the supply base and at various levels within individual suppliersPerform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarksKEY REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Operational Management (MBA preferred)Experience in Operations Management a plusStrong analytical skillsAble to manage multiple projects at the same timeHave understanding of material concepts and business administrationAble to understand and explain company goals and objectivesAble to analyze market trends (present and future)Must be willing to travel frequently (over 50%)To be considered for this position, send your resume to Carla Hunter:Office: (859) 296-2828Toll Free: (866) 296-2828Email: lynda@mcnamarasearch.com
