The R&D and Compliance Chef will spearhead the development and implementation of Asian inspired innovative concepts and flavors for the Burma Love Foods Products Team Brand. This role merges expertise in Asian culinary trends, techniques, and food sciences with a strong emphasis on food safety and compliance. As part of the Innovation Team, the chef will create Gold Standard recipes, ensuring they meet rigorous manufacturing standards. The position is a hybrid one, with 70% dedicated to research and development and 30% to food safety and compliance. It requires thriving in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, managing multiple projects, and meeting tight deadlines.Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Collaborate with the production, sales, and marketing teams to generate innovative product ideas and recipes, develop prototypes, and conduct shelf-life and scientifically based tests, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and goals.Maintain a keen awareness of Asian food trends, newly opened restaurants, trending flavors, consumer food products, and comparative products from all major channels. Analyze and report findings from competitor product analysis.Collaborate closely with the production and sales teams to create, innovate, and launch new products, transition from concept to commercialization, and continuously improve the quality, process, and cost of existing products.Formulate Gold Standard recipes, thoroughly documenting the results of recipe development, cooking yields, and descriptive qualities and food compliance.Organize and maintain the R&D kitchen in a clean and orderly condition, ensuring necessary inventories are stocked.Assist with administrative work and other duties or projects as assigned.Food Safety and Compliance Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor food safety and compliance programs to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and standards.Ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Conduct regular food safety audits and inspections, identifying and addressing any potential risks or non-compliance issues.Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food safety and sanitation.Train and educate staff on food safety protocols and compliance requirements.Stay updated on the latest food safety regulations and industry best practices.Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or a related field preferred.Minimum 3 years as an R&D Chef in Asian cuisine; experience in national chain restaurants is preferred.Strong understanding of Food Safety and Compliance in H.A.C.C.P and GMPs.Expertise in Asian cuisine and familiarity with traditional and modern cooking techniques.Understand food production and manufacturing, restaurant operations, distribution, and food safety.Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Experience using continuous improvement methodologies.Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and functions within the organization.Knowledge of product life cycle and inventory management.H.A.C.C.P Certified (not required, company pays for certification).ServSafe Certified.How to Apply:
